Fireflo takes place in a forest at night. Fireflies of different glowing colours are scattered among jars, and your job is to bring order: every jar should end up holding a single colour.

Pouring between jars

Tap a jar, then tap another, to pour the top fireflies across. A jar can only hold so many fireflies, so you will sometimes need to make room first. Pouring onto an empty jar, or onto a jar whose top firefly has the same colour, works as long as there is space.

Mixing jars

Some jars are iridescent. When you pour one colour onto a different colour in such a jar, the fireflies you pour blend into a new colour. The recipes are the ones you know from painting:

  • Yellow + blue = green
  • Red + blue = purple
  • Red + yellow = orange

The firefly you poured onto is left as it was; only the poured ones change.

Winning

The level is solved when every colour has been gathered into its own jar. There are no timers, so take as long as you like.

Need help?

If you get stuck, hints are there to guide you. Think of them as a gentle nudge rather than a shortcut.

A first level, step by step

  1. Look at every jar and write down in your head what is at the top and what is at the bottom.
  2. Find the colour that is easiest to gather: usually the one that already has the most fireflies together.
  3. Pour the other fireflies out of its way, onto empty jars or onto matching colours.
  4. When a colour is complete in its jar, leave it alone and move on to the next one.

Capacity and free space

Every jar holds a limited number of fireflies, so free space is the most precious thing on the board. Before every pour, check that the jar you are pouring into has room for what you are moving. If you run out of room, think back one step: which earlier pour used space that you could have saved?

Planning with mixing jars

Mixing jars add a second goal: sometimes the colour you need does not exist yet and has to be made. Think of the recipes as a small puzzle inside the puzzle. If a level needs green, find where yellow and blue are, and plan how to bring them together in an iridescent jar. Remember that only the fireflies you pour change colour, so decide carefully which colour is poured and which stays.

Fireflo is still in development, so details such as the number of jars and levels may change before release.
